--- abstract: 'Primary hydatid cyst in the pelvis is rare, and usually presents with pressure symptoms affecting the adjacent abdominal organs. We describe a rare hydatid cyst which was eroding the sacral hallow, protruding into the right sciatic foramen and presenting as a radiating pain and weakness of right lower limb due to compression of the lumbosacral nerve roots. Laparotomy with removal of cyst and postoperative treatment with albendazole is effective in controlling the disease and preventing recurrence.' altloc: - http://www.ojhas.org/issue41/2012-1-17.htm chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: - rathodps2003@yahoo.com - ~ - ~ - ~ creators_name: - family: Rathod given: PS honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Reddihalli given: PV honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Devi given: UK honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Bafna given: UD honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 2012-04-15 date_type: published datestamp: 2013-05-04 23:05:17 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/88/82 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: - Kakkilaya BS editors_name: - family: Kakkilaya given: Srinivas honourific: Dr lineage: '' eprint_status: archive eprintid: 8882 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/application_pdf.png;/8882/1/2012-1-17.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: ~ item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: Lower limb paresis; Primary pelvic hydatid cyst; Sciatica. lastmod: 2013-05-04 23:05:17 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: 1(17) pagerange: ~ pubdom: TRUE publication: Online Journal of Health and Allied Sciences publisher: BS Kakkilaya refereed: TRUE referencetext: "1.\tEckert J, Deplazes P.
