--- abstract: 'Meaningful analysis of voluminous health information has always been a challenge in most healthcare organizations. Accurate and timely information required by the management to lead a healthcare organization through the challenges found in the industry can be obtained using business intelligence (BI) or business analytics tools. However, these require large capital investments to implement and support the large volumes of data that needs to be analyzed to identify trends. They also require enormous processing power which places pressure on the business resources in addition to the dynamic changes in the digital technology. This paper evaluates the various nuances of business analytics of healthcare hosted on the cloud computing environment. The paper explores BI being offered as Software as a Service (SaaS) solution towards offering meaningful use of information for improving functions in healthcare enterprise. It also attempts to identify the challenges that healthcare enterprises face when making use of a BI SaaS solution.' altloc: - http://www.ojhas.org/issue41/2012-1-1.htm chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: - indrajitbhat@gmail.com - ~ - ~ creators_name: - family: Bhattacharya given: ' I' honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Ramachandran given: A honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Jha given: BK honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 2012-04-15 date_type: published datestamp: 2013-05-04 23:04:22 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/88/64 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: - Kakkilaya BS editors_name: - family: Kakkilaya given: Srinivas honourific: Dr lineage: '' eprint_status: archive eprintid: 8864 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/application_pdf.png;/8864/1/2012-1-1.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: ~ item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: Business Analytics; Business Intelligence (BI); Cloud computing; healthcare industry; Software as a service (SaaS). lastmod: 2013-05-04 23:04:22 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: 1(1) pagerange: ~ pubdom: TRUE publication: Online Journal of Health and Allied Sciences publisher: BS Kakkilaya refereed: TRUE referencetext: "1.\tDetmer DE.
