--- abstract: 'The Lazy Argument, as it is preserved in historical testimonies, is not logically conclusive. In this form, it appears to have been proposed in favor of part-time fatalism (including past time fatalism). The argument assumes that free will assumption is unacceptable from the standpoint of the logical fatalist but plausible for some of the non-universal or part-time fatalists. There are indications that the layout of argument is not genuine, but taken over from a Megarian source and later transformed. The genuine form of the argument seems to be given in different form and far closer to logical fatalism and its purpose is not to defend laziness. If the historical argument has to lead to a logically satisfactory solution, some additional assumptions and additional tuning is needed.' altloc: [] chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: - vladimir.marko@yahoo.com creators_name: - family: Marko given: Vladimir honourific: Dr. lineage: '' date: 2011 date_type: published datestamp: 2011-12-16 00:16:18 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/77/10 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: [] editors_name: [] eprint_status: archive eprintid: 7710 fileinfo: 'application/msword;http://cogprints.org/7710/1/Marko%20%2D%20Looking%20for%20the%20Lazy%20Argument%20Candidates%20[draft]%2C%202011.doc' full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: inpress issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: ~ item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: 'Lazy Argument, logical fatalism, logical determinism, historical reconstruction, Cicero, Chrysippus, Diodorus, Megarians.' lastmod: 2011-12-16 00:16:18 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: 3 & 4 pagerange: ~ pubdom: FALSE publication: Organon F publisher: 'Institute of Philosophy, Slovak Acadamy of Science' refereed: TRUE referencetext: ~ relation_type: [] relation_uri: [] reportno: ~ rev_number: 8 series: ~ source: ~ status_changed: 2011-12-16 00:16:18 subjects: - phil-logic succeeds: ~ suggestions: ~ sword_depositor: ~ sword_slug: ~ thesistype: ~ title: Looking for the Lazy Argument Candidates type: journale userid: 15146 volume: 18
