--- abstract: "Nowadays, the huge amount of information distributed through the Web motivates studying techniques to\r\nbe adopted in order to extract relevant data in an efficient and reliable way. Both academia and enterprises\r\ndeveloped several approaches of Web data extraction, for example using techniques of artificial intelligence or\r\nmachine learning. Some commonly adopted procedures, namely wrappers, ensure a high degree of precision\r\nof information extracted from Web pages, and, at the same time, have to prove robustness in order not to\r\ncompromise quality and reliability of data themselves.\r\nIn this paper we focus on some experimental aspects related to the robustness of the data extraction process\r\nand the possibility of automatically adapting wrappers. We discuss the implementation of algorithms for\r\nfinding similarities between two different version of a Web page, in order to handle modifications, avoiding\r\nthe failure of data extraction tasks and ensuring reliability of information extracted. Our purpose is to evaluate\r\nperformances, advantages and draw-backs of our novel system of automatic wrapper adaptation." altloc: [] chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: 'ICAART ’11: 3rd International Conference on Agents and Artificial Intelligence' confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: [] creators_name: - family: Ferrara given: Emilio honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Baumgartner given: Robert honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 2011 date_type: published datestamp: 2011-10-01 00:34:33 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/76/40 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: [] editors_name: [] eprint_status: archive eprintid: 7640 fileinfo: application/pdf;http://cogprints.org/7640/1/cr%2Dicaart2011.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: ~ item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: ~ lastmod: 2011-10-01 00:34:33 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: 'ISBN: 978-989-8425-40-9' number: ~ pagerange: 211-217 pubdom: TRUE publication: ~ publisher: ~ refereed: TRUE referencetext: ~ relation_type: [] relation_uri: [] reportno: ~ rev_number: 14 series: ~ source: ~ status_changed: 2011-10-01 00:34:33 subjects: - comp-sci-art-intel succeeds: ~ suggestions: ~ sword_depositor: ~ sword_slug: ~ thesistype: ~ title: Design of Automatically Adaptable Web Wrappers type: confpaper userid: 14714 volume: ~
