--- abstract: 'My overall aim here is to intersect two issues central to Max Velmans’ (2002) wide-ranging paper. The first concerns one of the most vexing problems in consciousness research — how best to approach the terms ‘mental’ and ‘physical’. The second looks at the phenomenology of volition, and the degree to which information presumably necessary for making voluntary conscious decisions is, or is not, present in consciousness.' altloc: [] chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: - mangan@cogsci.berkeley.edu creators_name: - family: Mangan given: Bruce B. honourific: Dr. lineage: '' date: 2003 date_type: published datestamp: 2011-08-30 04:22:37 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/75/89 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: [] editors_name: [] eprint_status: archive eprintid: 7589 fileinfo: application/pdf;http://cogprints.org/7589/1/Mangan_2003_VolitionAndPropertyDualism_JCS.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: 0 item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: "Free Will, Fringe, Max Velmans, Property Dualism, William James\r\n" lastmod: 2011-08-30 04:22:37 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: 12 pagerange: 29-34 pubdom: FALSE publication: Journal of Consciousness Studies publisher: ~ refereed: TRUE referencetext: ~ relation_type: [] relation_uri: [] reportno: ~ rev_number: 16 series: ~ source: ~ status_changed: 2011-08-30 04:22:37 subjects: - phil-mind succeeds: ~ suggestions: ~ sword_depositor: ~ sword_slug: ~ thesistype: ~ title: Volition and Property Dualism type: journalp userid: 14191 volume: 10
