--- abstract: 'Thymomas are exceedingly rare in the first 20 years of life, Thymic lesions comprise approximately 2–3% of all pediatric mediastinal tumors and include thymic cysts, hyperplasia, carcinoma, and thymomas. Fewer than 30 cases in children have been described in the literature. Thymomas in adults are commonly associated with other diseases, the most frequent being myasthenia gravis. However, this association has been rarely reported in childhood. These tumors are typically aggressive, with poor outcomes. We report a case of thymoma associated with myasthenia gravis in a 16-year-old girl and review the literature.' altloc: - http://www.ojhas.org/issue36/2010-4-16.htm chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: [] creators_name: - family: Shetty given: Prasad K honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Balaiah given: K honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Nayak given: Ganesh honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Shetty given: Prasanna K honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 2011-01-20 date_type: published datestamp: 2011-05-02 17:16:47 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/72/59 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: - BS Kakkilaya editors_name: - family: Kakkilaya given: Srinivas honourific: Dr lineage: '' eprint_status: archive eprintid: 7259 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/application_pdf.png;/7259/1/2010%2D4%2D16.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: 0 item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: Mediastinal mass; Thymoma; Myasthenia Gravis lastmod: 2011-05-02 17:16:47 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: 4 pagerange: ~ pubdom: TRUE publication: Online Journal of Health and Allied Sciences publisher: BS Kakkilaya refereed: TRUE referencetext: "1.\tKing RM, Telander RL, Smithson WA et al.
