--- abstract: 'Amebiasis is an infectious disease caused by Entamoeba Histolytica is more common in devolping countries, with various clinical manifestations and sequalae. Amoeboma , is an unusual sequelae which manifests as a tumor like mass within the colon. We present an unusual case of 5 year old child with signs of acute abdomen. A mass was found on expoloratory laparotomy attached to the small intestine. Histopathological examination of the mass revealed numerous amoebic trophozoites and the diagnosis of amoeboma was made. Our case is unusual because amoebomas presenting as an extraluminal mass attached to small intestine is extremely uncommon.' altloc: - http://www.ojhas.org/issue35/2010-3-22.htm chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: - vijayshankarpatho@gmail.com - ~ - ~ - ~ creators_name: - family: S given: Vijayshankar honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Ramachandra given: Usha honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Rao given: Vastala honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Siddappa given: Sujatha honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 2010-10-15 date_type: published datestamp: 2010-11-22 14:18:51 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/71/25 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: - Kakkilaya BS editors_name: - family: Kakkilaya given: Srinivas honourific: Dr. lineage: '' eprint_status: archive eprintid: 7125 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/application_pdf.png;/7125/1/2010%2D3%2D22.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: 0 item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: Amoeboma; Small intestine; Extraluminal mass lastmod: 2011-03-11 08:57:49 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: 3 pagerange: ~ pubdom: TRUE publication: Online Journal of Health and Allied Sciences publisher: Dr. B.S.
