--- abstract: 'Both government and private sector organizations are seeking ways to maintain and improve the health of the public in the world to control the costs at the same time. For this aim internet and use of georeferenced public health information for Geographic Information System application is an important and exciting development for the nation’s Department of Health and Human Services and other health agencies. Technological progress towards public health geospatial data integration, analysis, and visualization of space-time events using the Web portends eventual robust use of Geographic Information System by public health and other sectors of the economy. Increasing Web resources from distributed spatial data portals and global geospatial libraries, and a growing suite of Web integration tools, will provide new opportunities to advance disease surveillance, control and prevention, and insure public access and community empowerment in public health decision making.' altloc: - http://www.ojhas.org/issue32/2009-4-4.htm chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: - Alireza.Taravat@gmail.com - ~ creators_name: - family: Najafabadi given: AT honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Pourhassan given: M honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 2010-04-30 date_type: published datestamp: 2010-09-13 03:54:41 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/69/72 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: - Kakkilaya BS editors_name: - family: Kakkilaya given: Srinivas honourific: Dr lineage: '' eprint_status: archive eprintid: 6972 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/application_pdf.png;/6972/1/2009%2D4%2D4.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: 0 item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: 'Web GIS, Internet, Public Health; Management' lastmod: 2011-03-11 08:57:42 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: 4 pagerange: ~ pubdom: TRUE publication: Online Journal of Health and Allied Sciences publisher: Dr. BS Kakkilaya refereed: TRUE referencetext: "1.\tLeidner A, Homeland Security Working Group, Federal Geographic Data Committee, unpublished data, January 31, 2002\r\n2.\tForesman TA.
