--- abstract: 'Companions as interfaces to smart rooms need not only to be easy to interact with, but also to maintain long-term relationships with their users. The FP7-funded project SERA (Social Engagement with Robots and Agents) contributes to knowledge about and modeling of such relationships. One focal activity is an iterative field study to collect real-life long-term interaction data with a robotic interface. The first stage of this study has been completed. This paper reports on the set-up and the first insights.' altloc: [] chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: 'November 18-21, 2009' conference: 3rd European Conference on Ambient Intelligence (AmI09) confloc: 'Salzburg, Austria (EU)' contact_email: ~ creators_id: - sabine.payr@ofai.at - ~ - ~ - ~ creators_name: - family: Payr given: Sabine honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Wallis given: Peter honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Cunningham given: 'Stuart ' honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Hawley given: Mark honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 2009-11 date_type: published datestamp: 2010-07-02 03:30:00 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/68/64 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: [] editors_name: - family: Tscheligi given: M. honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: de Ruyter given: B. honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Soldatos given: J. honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Meschtscherjakov given: A. honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Buiza given: C. honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Streitz given: N. honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Mirlacher given: T. honourific: '' lineage: '' eprint_status: archive eprintid: 6864 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/application_pdf.png;/6864/1/rabbitic%2Dv4.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: 0 item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: 'Robotic User Interface, Smart Room, Natural Language Interaction, Long-term Social Relationship' lastmod: 2011-03-11 08:57:38 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: "Published in the adjunct proceedings.\r\n\r\nThe research leading to this publication has been carried out in the framework of the project SERA (Social Engagement with Robots and Agents, http://project-sera.eu), funded by the European Community’s seventh Framework Programme [FP7/2007-2013] under grant agreement no. 231868." number: ~ pagerange: 65-68 pubdom: TRUE publication: ~ publisher: 'ICT&S Center, Salzburg, Austria (EU)' refereed: TRUE referencetext: "[1] Bartneck, C., Okada, M.: Robotic User Interfaces.
