--- abstract: 'According to recent studies in developmental psychology and neuroscience, symbolic language is essentially intersubjective. Empathetically relating to others renders possible the acquisition of linguistic constructs. Intersubjectivity develops in early ontogenetic life when interactions between mother and infant mutually shape their relatedness. Empirical findings suggest that the shared attention and intention involved in those interactions is sustained as it becomes internalized and embodied. Symbolic language is derivative and emerges from shared intentionality. In this paper, we present a formalization of shared intentionality based upon a quantum approach. From a phenomenological viewpoint, we investigate the nonseparable, dynamic and sustainable nature of social cognition and evaluate the appropriateness of quantum interaction for modelling intersubjectivity.' altloc: [] chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: 25-27 March 2009 conference: Third Quantum Interaction Symposium (QI 2009) confloc: 'Saarbruecken, Germany' contact_email: ~ creators_id: - c.flender@qut.edu.au - ~ - ~ creators_name: - family: Flender given: Christian honourific: Mr lineage: '' - family: Kitto given: Kirsty honourific: Dr lineage: '' - family: Bruza given: Peter honourific: Prof lineage: '' date: 2009-01-30 date_type: submitted datestamp: 2009-02-13 01:17:01 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/63/38 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: ~ edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: [] editors_name: - family: Bruza given: Peter honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Sofge given: Don honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Lawless given: William honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: van Rijsbergen given: Keith honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Klusch given: Mathias honourific: '' lineage: '' eprint_status: archive eprintid: 6338 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/application_pdf.png;/6338/2/SharedIntentionality.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: inpress issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: 0 item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: 'Shared Intentionality, Phenomenology, Quantum Cognition, Dynamic Co-Emergence' lastmod: 2011-03-11 08:57:18 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: 5494 pagerange: ~ pubdom: TRUE publication: ~ publisher: Springer refereed: TRUE referencetext: ~ relation_type: [] relation_uri: [] reportno: ~ rev_number: 39 series: ~ source: ~ status_changed: 2009-02-13 01:17:01 subjects: - comp-sci-lang - phil-mind - dev-psy - comp-sci-art-intel succeeds: ~ suggestions: ~ sword_depositor: ~ sword_slug: ~ thesistype: ~ title: Nonseparability of Shared Intentionality type: confpaper userid: 8483 volume: Lectur
