--- abstract: 'Presently, the screening of syphilis is dependent mainly on serological tests. In the sexually transmitted disease clinic, syphilis serology is a basic screening test. The results VDRL test among of 150 HIV (82 males, 68 females) infected, regardless to immune status (CD4+ count), were studied. It was found that in 2 cases, the VDRL was biologically false reactive (VDRL positive, TPHA negative), who had CD4+ count >200 /L, giving the incidence rate equal to 1.3 % (1.2 % for male and 1.5 % for female).' altloc: - http://www.ojhas.org/issue15/2005-3-2.htm chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: - Wiwanitkit V creators_name: - family: Wiwanitkit given: Viroj honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 2005-11 date_type: published datestamp: 2006-01-14 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/46/95 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: ~ edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: - Kakkilaya BS editors_name: - family: Kakkilaya given: Srinivas honourific: Dr. lineage: Bevinje eprint_status: archive eprintid: 4695 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/application_pdf.png;/4695/1/2005%2D3%2D2.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: 0 item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: 'HIV, Syphilis, VDRL, False positive' lastmod: 2011-03-11 08:56:19 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: 3 pagerange: ~ pubdom: TRUE publication: Online Journal Of Health And Allied Sciences publisher: Dr. B.S.
