--- abstract: 'The theory of computational complexity is used to underpin a recent model of neocortical sensory processing. We argue that encoding into reconstruction networks is appealing for communicating agents using Hebbian learning and working on hard combinatorial problems, which are easy to verify. Computational definition of the concept of intelligence is provided. Simulations illustrate the idea.' altloc: - http://arxiv.org/abs/q-bio.NC/0403022 chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: '28.5.2004 - 1.6.2004' conference: Early Cognitive Vision Workshop confloc: 'Isle of Skye, Scotland' contact_email: ~ creators_id: [] creators_name: - family: Lorincz given: Andras honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 2004 date_type: published datestamp: 2004-03-18 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/35/05 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: ~ edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: [] editors_name: - family: Wörgötter given: ' F.' honourific: '' lineage: '' eprint_status: archive eprintid: 3505 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/application_pdf.png;/3505/1/_intelligent_encoding_.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: unpub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: 0 item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: 'neocortex, hippocampus, generative networks, NP-hard problems, collaboration, agents, visual stream' lastmod: 2011-03-11 08:55:30 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: ~ pagerange: ~ pubdom: FALSE publication: ~ publisher: ~ refereed: TRUE referencetext: |- B.
