--- abstract: The use of PC-based simulations for selection and training for jobs which require complex problem solving skills is ever-increasing. This paper gives a short review of such simulations along with a list of advantages and disadvantages of their use. Possible future developments are sketched. altloc: [] chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: [] creators_name: - family: Funke given: Joachim honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 1998 date_type: published datestamp: 2001-07-13 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/16/80 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: ~ edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: [] editors_name: [] eprint_status: archive eprintid: 1680 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/application_pdf.png;/1680/2/Funke_1998_IJSA.PDF full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: 0 item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: 'complex problem solving, computer-based assessment, scenarios' lastmod: 2011-03-11 08:54:44 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: 2 pagerange: 90-96 pubdom: FALSE publication: International Journal of Selection and Assessment publisher: Blackwell Publishers Ltd refereed: TRUE referencetext: ~ relation_type: [] relation_uri: [] reportno: ~ rev_number: 10 series: ~ source: ~ status_changed: 2007-09-12 16:39:38 subjects: - cog-psy succeeds: ~ suggestions: ~ sword_depositor: ~ sword_slug: ~ thesistype: ~ title: 'Computer-based testing and training with scenarios from complex problem-solving research: Advantages and disadvantages' type: journalp userid: 78 volume: 6
