--- abstract: |- One of the objectives of Artificial Intelligence has been the modelling of "human" characteristics, such as emotions, behaviour, conscience, etc. But in such characteristics we might find certain degree of contradiction. Previous work on modelling emotions and its problems are reviewed. A model for emotions is proposed using multidimensional logic, which handles the degree of contradiction that emotions might have. The model is oriented to simulate emotions in artificial societies. The proposed solution is also generalized for actions which might overcome contradiction (conflictive goals in agents, for example.). altloc: - http://jlagunez.iquimica.unam.mx/~carlos/mdl/mdlemotions.html chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: June 1999 conference: 18th International Conference of the North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society (NAFIPS '99) confloc: New York City contact_email: ~ creators_id: [] creators_name: - family: Gershenson given: Carlos honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 1999 date_type: published datestamp: 2001-05-10 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/14/79 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: ~ edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: [] editors_name: [] eprint_status: archive eprintid: 1479 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/text_html.png;/1479/1/mdlemotions.html full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: 0 item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: 'Paraconsistent logic, contradictions, emotions' lastmod: 2011-03-11 08:54:37 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: ~ pagerange: 42-46 pubdom: FALSE publication: ~ publisher: IEEE refereed: TRUE referencetext: |- [1] Arbib, M.
