--- abstract: 'An approach is explicitly formulated to blend a local with a global theory to investigate oscillatory neocortical firings, to determine the source and the information-processing nature of the alpha rhythm. The basis of this optimism is founded on a statistical mechanical theory of neocortical interactions which has had success in numerically detailing properties of short-term-memory (STM) capacity at the mesoscopic scales of columnar interactions, and which is consistent with other theory deriving similar dispersion relations at the macroscopic scales of electroencephalographic (EEG) and magnetoencephalographic (MEG) activity.' altloc: - http://www.ingber.com/smni95_eeg.ps.gz chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: [] creators_name: - family: Ingber given: Lester honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 1985 date_type: published datestamp: 1999-06-15 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/01/03 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: ~ edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: [] editors_name: [] eprint_status: archive eprintid: 103 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/application_postscript.png;/103/2/smni85_eeg.ps full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: 0 item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: ~ lastmod: 2011-03-11 08:53:40 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: ~ pagerange: 91-94 pubdom: FALSE publication: IEEE Transactions Biomedical Engineering publisher: ~ refereed: TRUE referencetext: ~ relation_type: [] relation_uri: [] reportno: ~ rev_number: 10 series: ~ source: ~ status_changed: 2007-09-12 16:23:28 subjects: - comp-neuro-sci - comp-sci-stat-model succeeds: ~ suggestions: ~ sword_depositor: ~ sword_slug: ~ thesistype: ~ title: Statistical mechanics of neocortical interactions.
