Abstract
A method for rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP) is presented and applied to visual handicaps. The technique entails presentation of words, or groups of words, at a common location. A consequence of certain disorders of the retina is a loss of peripheral information. Results from studies of one patient indicated that RSVP might be a useful aid for this type of visual handicap.
