AbstractThe left and right hemispheres are asymmetrical with respect to specific cognitive abilities as well as organization of concepts and meaning systems. Several hemi-field experiments using the notion of typicality in different cognitive domains are described in this paper, as well as experiments which tap the notion of hemispheric-specific schemata. The results suggest that the 2 cerebral hemispheres can process the same external information but in ways which suggest asymmetry in concept and meaning organization.
